(WTVR) - Police are still investigating why a gunman opened fire in a Connecticut school last week.

Police say the Newtown shooter Adam Lanza likely had a form of autism called Asperger's, but an autism expert from Virginia Commonwealth University says that's irrelevant.

Doctor Dawn Henricks says there is no relation between autism and violence.

She says her office has been fielding calls and questions from parents since the shooting.

She added violent tendencies of people with Asperger's is about the same as people without.
