AMHERST COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — Investigators now say a propane tank explosion at an Amherst County shopping center could have been prevented.
Firefighters say a car hit a propane tank in the parking lot of the Ambriar Shopping Center, creating a leak in the tank. That sparked a fire, causing a second tank to explode.
The explosion injured two firefighters and caused more than $100,000 in damage.
