TORONTO — The truth has finally been revealed about a video that went viral on YouTube this morning.

The clip shows an eagle swooping out of the sky, and snatching a baby from the ground. The bird flies for a few feet, before dropping the infant.

Turns out, the whole thing was a fake, just as many expected.

A Toronto animation studio is claiming to be responsible for the video.

In a blog post, the Centre NAD writes “Both the eagle and the kid were created in 3D animation and integrated in to the film afterwards.”

The studio is known for its hoaxes, including video of a penguin that had escaped the Montreal Biodome. The goal of such projects is “to produce creative projects according to industry production and quality standards while developing team work skills.”
