RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)--Olympic gold medalist and Virginia-native Gabby Douglas was in Richmond Monday tonight to sign copies of her new book.
Crowds packed the Lifeway Christian store on West Broad Street; the line wrapped around the outside of the store.
Her memoir is titled “Grace, Gold and Glory: My Leap of Faith” and it tells the story of her faith and determination and the difficulties she faced on the world gymnastics stage.
She told CBS 6 that she hopes her book inspires readers.
“I hope people take away just to be inspired and motivated,” she said. “And I want them to know, don’t stop with what you want to accomplish, don’t ever stop, go 100% and just have fun."
Douglas said her memoir includes a lot of stories about gymnastics, as well as challenges she and her family faced.
