HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is one of 12 community organizations in the nation receiving the Voice of the People award for 2012.
The Sheriff’s Office was awarded this prestigious honor by the International City and County Management Association and the National Research Center.
It won the award after an independent survey was conducted in the county. Then it earned a service quality rating in the top three among all eligible jurisdictions.
You might remember the Sheriff’s Office was nationally recognized after finding Robert Wood Junior, a child was lost in a rock quarry for days last year.
