Uriah Kamal Harris, 26, is charged with felony Aggravated Malicious Wounding and felony Possession of a Knife on School Property, in connection to Wednesday's attack. He is also charged with misdemeanor Violation of a Protective Order, according to police documents obtained by CBS 6 News.

Harris is accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend in the school parking lot. The woman was taken to VCU Medical Center with what were described as serious injuries.

After the attack, Goochland Sheriff Jim Agnew said Harris drove off and headed for a friend’s house in the western part of the county. That friend called the sheriff’s office about an hour later and worked out a way for Harris to turn himself in.

Agnew said the victim had a protective order against Harris, but the order had not yet been served. However, Agnew said Harris knew about the order.
