CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WTVR) -- Chesterfield schools have proposed shifting to a 10-point grade scale for the 2014-2015 school year.

A 10-point grading scale is similar to the way colleges grade students, giving pupils an A grade if they score 90-percent or higher in a class. The current system gives A's for students that score 94-percent or higher.

Shawn Smith from Chesterfield County Public Schools dropped by the CBS 6 studios Tuesday evening to discuss the proposed change.
