NEW YORK CITY (WCBS) – Police are on the hunt for a suspect who pushed a man onto the tracks in a New York City subway tunnel Monday.

Police said 58-year-old Ki-Suk Han of Queens died after being crushed by a southbound train around 12:30 p.m.

Detectives and crime scene technicians are trying to remain stoic in the face of the stark horror they saw below ground. In Fact, witnesses say Han continued to struggle after he was hit in his upper torso extending above the spot there where the train meets the platform.

One passenger kneeled next Han, but it was futile.

Another passenger said he heard the impact from the opposite end of the platform.

"The train was about three quarters into the platform. It was slowing down at the point, but after it was slowing down there was like a thud, a thud like something was hitting the train," Patrick Gomez said.

Police are looking for the assailant, a man with braids, in his twenties or thirties who was arguing with the victim before the train rolled in.
