RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Richmond Fire crews have contained a two-alarm fire that burned a Northside home early Thursday morning.

Fire crews responded to the 3200 block of Detroit Ave. around 3:00 a.m., according to Richmond Fire Lieutenant Robert Hagaman.

Once on scene, crews found fire and smoke coming out of the two-story home. It took crews nearly an hour and a half to contain the flames.

Firefighters who searched the house did not find anyone inside. They believe the home was vacant. No injuries were reported.

Richmond Police officers rescued two dogs found outside the home.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
