Fashion Square Mall suspect wanted in attempted abduction case

The suspect was last seen wearing a hat and hoodie at the Fashion Square Mall in Charlottesville.

A Charlottesville-area family says the man grabbed their daughter and started running while they were shopping this past Saturday. Police say the girl's father chased the suspect and got his daughter back.

From there, mall security stepped in and ushered the man off the mall property.

Albemarle County police have since said mall security should not have released the suspect because attempting to abduct a child is a felony offense.

Police there are asking anyone with information to give them a call at 434-977-4000.
