(WTVR) – Are you using a generic version of Lipitor?  You may not be able to pick up the cholesterol-reducing drug at your pharmacy for a while.

Manufacturer, Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals is voluntarily recalling more than 40 batches of the generic drug because they may contain small pieces of glass.

The manufacturer says the recall is happening on the retail level and could cause a temporary supply shortage, but it expects to complete its investigation within two weeks and resume shipments sometime after.

So far, the Food and Drug Administration says no injuries or deaths have been linked to the recalled drug.
