(WTVR) - While many spent Thanksgiving night relaxing with family and digesting that big meal, some folks were out on the prowl for deals.

And as inevitably seems to happen each year, tempers flared as the crowds gathered at stores.

In fact, KXTL-TV reports one shopper in California threatened to stab fellow shoppers while he was waiting in line to enter Kmart Friday morning.

Video captured the man saying, ______ push one of my kids and I will stab one of you ______ ______..."

That was right after the overflow crowd at the Kmart  took on a mob mentality as hundreds of bargain hunters camped out for hours and were wrapped around the building.

The mood worsened when store workers came outside to give vouchers to those in line. When the store finally opened, the man yelled out as the stampeded began.

Things got a little aggressive at a Kmart store in Indianapolis over a $200 42-inch plasma television, according to WGN-TV.

The store had a small supply of televisions, so workers handed out tickets to a few early-bird shoppers. But tensions flared when shoppers started buying the tickets.

"Everybody started going crazy about and cops got called in," a witness said. "We saw one lady bought one of the 42-inch TV tickets bought one for $20 and then another gentleman right in front of us bought one for $40."

And the woman who launched a profanity-laced tirade over the tickets was escorted out of the store.

Nerves were also frayed as Black Friday shoppers at a mall in Nebraska were terrified when they thought they heard gunfire.

It has been been nine years since a man opened fire at a Nebraska shopping mall weeks before Christmas, killing eight people before turning the gun on himself.

KETV-TV reports six people called 911 around 1 a.m. saying that shots were being fired at the mall.

Many customers panicked and started running from the building, while others hid in store bathrooms.

It turns out that there was a fight going on at that time, but nobody shot anyone.
Police say what people were hearing was actually trash cans being knocked over in the scuffle

KSHB-TV reports that dozens of screaming women crowded the entrance to the Victoria's Secret Pink store at a mall in Kansas before the clock struck midnight.

They were desperately fighting for the chance to get first dibs on the store's Black Friday shopping bargains.

Mall security guards held the frenetic mob and the store's manager pleaded with people to stay calm. Eventually, they let the shoppers in to get their hands on the merchandise.

And there were no major incidents were reported at the store or anywhere else at the mall.
