Police search for two men in double-shooting at Richmond motel

Richmond, Va. (WTVR)--Police are searching for two suspects in a double shooting off of Midlothian Turnpike.

Police told CBS 6 the shooting happened inside the room of the Richmond Inn, in the 6300 block of Midlothian. The motel is part of the Q Club. 

Patrons inside the inside the Q Club at the Richmond Inn and Suites on Midlothian Turnpike said they didn't hear the sounds of gunfire just 100 yards away from them.

“Basically around 5:30 p.m. we got a call about an individual shot, and then a second call followed about another individual shot,” said Richmond Police Major Steve Drew.

Drew said a man and a woman were shot inside a hotel room. Within minutes, the victims were placed in an ambulance and police scoured the areas for clues.

Investigators said the shooter got away.

Police won’t say if the victim’s knew the shooter, because they have yet to interview the victims, but witnesses were able to provide police with a description of two men, one who might have been the shooter, and a vehicle description.

The suspects are described as two black males in their early 20’s. One of them is 6’2”, and the other is around 5’9”. Witnesses said they may have gotten away in dark colored Jeep Cherokee.
