Hotel shooting leads to West End chase, crash

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Police are investigating an early morning shooting at a Henrico County hotel.

When police arrived at the Shrader Road hotel around 4:45 a.m., officers saw two cars leaving the parking lot.

"One of the vehicles stopped for officers and the other vehicle attempted to flee," Henrico Police spokeswoman Lt. Linda Toney wrote in an email. "A vehicle pursuit was initiated and the suspect vehicle crashed at W. Broad Street and Glenside Drive."

The suspect got out of the car and ran. Officers took him into custody along Interstate 64 near Glenside Drive.

"We are in the preliminary stages of this investigation.  No charges have been placed at this time," Toney said.

The hotel shooting victim, an adult male, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to police.
