RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – A driver was shot during an overnight robbery in Richmond’s Fulton Hill neighborhood. The victim, who had just parked the tow truck at Mt. Erin Drive and Union Street, suffered life-threatening injuries, Richmond Police spokesman James Mercante said.

Mercante said two men approached the driver around 12:35 a.m. and shot him several times. Someone who lives near the shooting scene called 911. The victim, described by police as a man in his mid-40’s, was taken to VCU Medical Center.

Police provided the following description of the suspects:

  • Two black males
  • One suspect was thin
  • One suspect was heavy set
  • Both suspect wore black clothing

Police asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
