Henrico County, VA (WTVR) – Construction crews have started restoring a part of Tuckahoe Elementary School that was damaged by fire over the weekend.

Fire investigators said it will take two or three weeks to thoroughly clean smoke damage in the school so that students can return to class. Starting on Thursday, they will be relocated to Short Pump Middle School.

A separate wing of the campus will be used for those students.

School leaders say they’re still discussing logistics on the move.

An informational meeting will be held for parents on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Short Pump Middle School.
