WELLINGTON, Utah (KSL) - Dramatic video captured by a man shooting cell phone video for his son shows what happens when a utility truck with two people inside crossed a train's path in Utah Friday.

Both men inside the truck are lucky to be alive after the accident, which seems nothing short of a miracle.

James Wood was thinking of his 4-year-old son, when he pulled out his iPhone and started recording a passing freight train.

Wood's video shows a Union Pacific train was passing through Wellington with its horn blowing and the lights at the crossing flashing.

Wood said he could not believe it when he panned to the right and realized the train was slamming into a something.

Wood, who said he was in shock when he first realized what had happened, ran numbly to the truck fearing the worst, but he spotted someone emerging from the wreckage.

“He got out of the truck [and] I said, ‘Are you alright,’ and he said, ‘Yeah, I’m fine. And I said, ‘Dude, you are the luckiest man alive right now,’” Wood said.

A mangled mess is all that is left of the semi truck, used by a water treatment plant. And there isn't much left of the railroad crossing signal either.

The utility truck driver told police he did not see the train.
