Watching a horror movie can help burn calories

(WTVR) - Planning on curling up on the couch with a scary movie this Halloween?

If so, consider it your workout for the day.

New studies done by the University of Westminster says the scarier the film you watch, the more calories you burn.

The research says it has to do with your heart rate rising and your adrenaline increasing.

The study says on average, viewers burn about 113 calories during the 90 minutes of the scary film

The scariest movie of all?

Scientists discovered people who watched The Shining burned 184 calories.

That's about the same amount of calories you would burn if you went on a 30 minute walk.
