WAUSAU, Wisconsin (WSAW) – The Wisconsin woman police say wrote in her diary how she got pleasure from torturing a dog will make a plea next month.

Twenty-year old Sean Janas is charged with felony mistreatment of an animal causing death, poisoning an animal and lying to police.

Investigators say she poured Drano and bleach down the dog's throat, and stabbed her with a knife.

Janas appeared in Marathon County court Wednesday morning and waived her right to a preliminary hearing, not challenging the charges against her.

If convicted of all charges, Janas faces five years in prison.

LaMont Jacobson, a Marathon County senior staff attorney, says the case has sparked outrage across the country. In fact he says he has received  thousands of emails,  around 100 letters and even phone calls.

Jacobson also said he will take into account the public's opinion on this case.

In addition, about 100 people and their dogs marched around the courthouse during Janas' court appearance.

It was in support of Mary, the dog that was killed. Many called for harsher penalties for those convicted of animal abuse. They vow to return for her next hearing on Nov. 12 and any others court appearances.

"I was appalled to think that this innocent dog, man's best friend, was put through this torture," Kelli Obremski, one of the supporters of harsher penalties, said.
