AFTON, Va. (WTVR) - If you travel west of Charlottesville be ready to run into more than just rain and strong winds.
Senior Reporter Wayne Covil headed out to Afton Mountain Tuesday morning and filed this iphone report.
He tells us if you travel from Richmond to Charlottesville the worst you'll run into is slick roads, but the further and higher you go the worse the snow and wind becomes.
VDOT crews are working to lay down a layer of sand and salt on the major roadways but urge drivers to check VA 511before heading out on the roads.
