Monster storm shuts down Halloween for some

The Halloween decorations at this West Virginia home are buried under two-feet of snow.  

This family lives in Beckley, which got pounded by blizzard-like conditions from Superstorm Sandy. 

The kids had some fun, putting a Halloween mask on their snowman. 

The iReporter said that snow led city officials to cancel trick-or-treating on Halloween. 

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin (D-W.Va.) declared a state of emergency in the Mountain State at around noon on Monday, Oct. 29. 

In New York, the annual Village Halloween Parade, a festive event that takes over Sixth Avenue in Lower Manhattan, has been cancelled.
