HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – A Mechanicsville woman is charged with armed robbery following two early-morning crimes, according to Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Captain Michael Trice.

Trice said Jennifer Pickrel, 44, robbed the Fas Mart, at 9492 Chamberlayne Road, and the 7-Eleven, at 8316 Meadowbridge Road, between 3:20 and 3:35 Monday morning.

No one was hurt during the robberies in which Pickrel demanded money and held what appeared to be a gun, Trice said.

Deputies arrested Pickrel during a 4:21 a.m. traffic stop on Shady Grove Road near Meadowbridge Road.

“This quick apprehension was a result of exceptional police work by responding Sheriff’s Office personnel and strong witness accounts,” Hanover Sherrif  Colonel David R. Hines said in a statement. “It is obvious that Pickrel would have continued to be a threat to the community if not apprehended immediately.”
