(WTVR) - Bank of America came out ahead after its' recent quarterly earnings report.

The company made $340 million dollars in the third quarter, beating Wall Street's expectations.

A settlement with shareholders cost the bank more than a billion dollars.

The shareholders claim the bank misled them when it purchased Merrill Lynch during the financial crisis four years ago.
