(WTVR) — Doctors in the United Kingdom treating a Pakistani teenager injured in a Taliban assassination attempt, are “very pleased” with her progress, according to reports on CBS and CNN. Malala Yousufzai, 14, is no longer in critical condition.

Yousufzai was transferred to a hospital in Birmingham, England in order to treat her for a gunshot wound to the head. Tuesday, doctors there said Yousufzai will require reconstructive surgery. Her recovery is expected to take months.

Last week, doctors in Pakistan removed the bullet from Yousufzai which had moved down to her neck.

Also on Tuesday, police in England said two “Well-Wishers” were stopped overnight as they tried to enter the hospital where Yousufzai is being treated. They were stopped in a public area of the hospital and information about the two was recorded. The pair was told that they would not be allowed to see her. No arrests were made.

The Taliban attempted to assassinate the teen for her out spoken views against the terrorist group and for her views supporting education and the rights of women.

When Yousufzai was just 11 years old, she began to blog for the BBC about her experience going to school under the threat of death from Islamist extremists.

The Interior Minister of Pakistan is offering a $1 million bounty for a Pakistani Taliban spokesman.

The Taliban has said that they will attack the teen again if she survives.
