(WTVR) Fin to hand combat? It sounds like a far-fetched plan of Dr. Evil from Austin Powers, but so far the military experiment is going swimmingly.

The Ukranian navy is training dolphins to attack enemy combat swimmers by utilizing the knives and guns that are attached to their heads, reported the Military Times. The modus operandi is defense of ports.

There are 10 dolphins being trained as ocean agents. In addition to attacking, the dolphins are undergoing special task training that includes locating weapons and other various contraband.

The Naval program in San Diego already trains dolphins and sea lions to find mines and other objects underwater. The Ukranian facility is the only other one like it in the world.
