Driver suffers ‘life-threatening’ injuries in Chesterfield accident

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – A driver suffered life-threatening injuries in an afternoon accident in Chesterfield County. Chesterfield Police Lt. David Fuller said the driver of a silver Nissan was seriously hurt when the car was hit by a large truck carrying dirt.

Lt. Fuller said the Nissan was heading west on Midlothian around 12:10 p.m. when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto Old Hundred Road. As the car turned, the truck hit the driver’s side of the car.

The car driver was flown by MedFlight to the hospital.

Chesterfield Police are investigating the accident.

Two westbound lanes of Midlothian Turnpike are closed near Windy Hill.
