CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WTVR) –  Fire investigators believe a welding torch may have caused the roof of UVA’S new indoor practice facility to go up in flames.

Officials said Tuesday that the fire may have started when construction crews cut a hole in the metal deck with the tool.

The $13 million football facility is currently under construction.

WCAV, the CBS affiliate in Charlottesville, reported the project was scheduled to be completed in 2013, but there is no word on how the fire may have pushed back the timetable.
