CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Two school buses collided outside Manchester High School around 2:00 p.m., confirmed Chesterfield Fire Lt. Jason Elmore.

"Early indication is that one bus bumped into the other while traffic was stopped," Chesterfield County Public Schools Assistant Director of Community Relations Shawn Smith emailed to CBS 6. Smith added the buses were leaving Manchester High School at the time of the accident.

Elmore told CBS 6 two people - a student and a bus driver - were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Smith said replacement buses will take the students home, and those students may be arriving home late.

The accident happened along Bailey Bridge Road between Creek Crossing and Cameron Bay Drive.
