HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Police say a vandal drove his car onto J.R. Tucker High School's football field sometime after the football game on Friday, damaging the grass.

The coach and other people connected to the school think it was a random act of vandalism, not connected to their 42-20 win over Thomas Jefferson.

The high school doesn't have a lot of people dedicated to repairing the field, but some students want to fix what's been done.

"They started picking up bits and tried to put the field back together," said Coach George Earle.  "They were obviously disappointed, but at the same time, it was a sign that we're growing together as a team because they care.  They were upset that something like this would happen."

Police arrested William Carter and charged him with DUI, felony vandalism and trespassing on school property.
