RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – A new Bell Isle bike skills training area opened on Saturday to help Richmond become more bike-friendly.

The training area is in the James River Park, which is right across the Tredegar Street suspension bridge.  It includes two pump tracks, obstacles, rock gardens and log and rock skinnies.

In addition to the “off-road” obstacles, Richmond Parks and Recreation issued a statement saying they plan on adding an “on-road” training area that will provide a safe environment to ride in the city.

The Belle Isle Skills Area is free for everyone to use and is open daily.  For more information, please visit the Richmond Parks and Recreation’s website.
