Henrico woman gets 1 month for kids sports team theft
CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WTVR) – A Henrico woman will serve one month in jail for stealing money from a youth sports league in Chesterfield.
As a part of a plea deal, Jennifer Harris pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement in court — and a judge ruled she could serve her time on weekends.
Harris is accused of taking more than $12,000 from the Alberta Smith Athletic Association from 2009 to 2011. She had repaid most of the money before being charged earlier this year.
