FINAL SCORE FRIDAY: Hopewell at Meadowbrook

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Hopewell did their best to throw a scare into 6th ranked Meadowbrook before the Monarchs pulled away in the second half of their 56-28 win.

Hopewell scored first on a Moses Tolbert 1 yard TD run, then doubled their lead when Octavius Taylor connected with Reggie Butler on a 13 yard TD pass.

But Monarch QB Gerard Johnson took over from there, scoring on a 25 yard TD run then finding Terrelle Whitaker for 2 first half touchdown passes, the first of which was set up by an Alveon Truesdale interception.

Meadowbrook improves to 3-1 on the year while Hopewell falls to 2-2.
