(WTVR) – The Marine Corps says two non-commissioned officers are facing criminal charges for allegedly urinating on the bodies of Taliban soldiers in Afghanistan last year.

The incident came to light after photos of servicemen posing with the dead were given to media outlets earlier this year.

The Marine Corps says it will court martial two Staff Sergeants, who are accused desecrating the remains and are based at Camp Lejuene, North Carolina.

Three other marines were given administrative punishments last month for their alleged role in the incident.
