RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - CBS 6 Storm Team Meteorologist Mike Stone says Saturday marks the first day of Fall. It will also be the warmest day since Sept. 8 with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Skies will remain mostly sunny much of the day.

A cold front will approach from the west towards evening. Ahead of it, it will be breezy and a little more humid. There will be a few widely scattered storms along the front, affecting the mountains mid to late afternoon, and areas near I-95 after 6 p.m. [BONUS: Check out our SkyTracker cameras to check out conditions around the area.]

There will not be any organized severe weather with this front, but an isolated storm or two may produce wind gusts over 40 mph. The best chance of storms with this front will be up towards Washington, D.C., so the threat of storms is not very high across our area.

Cooler and less humid air will spill in behind the front tonight into Sunday. Overnight lows will drop into the mid 50s. Skies will be mostly sunny on Sunday with highs in the low to mid 70s. Click here for Mike extended forecast.
