CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WTVR)—A mother who allegedly left her child in the vehicle outside Wal-Mart appeared in court.

Angela Case appeared before a judge in Chesterfield Juvenile Court this morning for a pre-trial hearing.

The 31-year-old mother of eight is accused of felony child neglect for allegedly leaving her young son alone in a van for 30 minutes while inside the Wal-Mart at Hancock Village.

The child was checked out for any injuries on that hot day, but was not hurt.

Supporters of Case have been adamant about her innocence and tell CBS6 that it was a misunderstanding and that didn’t know her child was in the van.

Outside court today Case did not want to speak with us, but someone with Case did comment about her supporters saying, “God loves them. That is the statement”.

The pre-trial hearing lasted for just a few minutes. Case will be back in court on October 23 to face a charge of felony child neglect. If convicted she could face jail time.
