ARLINGTON, Va (WTVR) –  President and Mrs. Obama laid a wreath at the Pentagon, in Arlington to mark the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the United States of America. More than 180 people were killed in the Northern Virginia attack.

When President Obama addressed the crowd, he talked about the legacy of 9/11.

"When the history books are written, the true legacy of 9/11 will not be one of fear or hate or division," the President said. "It will be a safer world, a stronger nation and people more united than ever before."

Earlier this morning, the President and First Lady observed a moment of silence at the White House.
