CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Chesterfield Police have released a description of a woman they say threatened to have a bomb during a bank robbery Friday afternoon.
Chesterfield Police Lt. Carpenter told CBS 6 a woman entered the Virginia Credit Union along the 13000 block of Jefferson Davis Highway around 4:00 p.m. The bank teller told police the woman said she had left a bomb at the bank, Lt. Carpenter.
Virginia State Police examined a package left at the bank and determined it was not an explosive. No one was hurt during the robbery.
Police describe the suspect as a black female, between 45 and 55-years-old, and about 5 feet 3 inches tall. Additionally, the suspect was seen wearing what appeared to be a short, reddish brown or auburn wig, sunglasses, and a white T-shirt.
Police believe the woman may be responsible for other bank robberies in the area. Police hoped to be able to release security cameras pictures soon.
