RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - When I sent out my morning email forecast Wednesday, I received an incredible email response from two people trying to get back home to Richmond from New Orleans. Here is what Richmond residents Vaden Robinson, Jr. and Bernadine Gordon said in their email back to me.

"We're riding out the hurricane here in New Orleans.  Flights were cancelled since Monday. Hoping to leave for Richmond Thursday. Lots of rain, winds 60mph, pressure has dropped. (We) came down from 17th floor to 2nd floor; too much shaking in the room. (Isaac is) flooding parishes. We're in the French Quarter only 600-700 feet from the     Mississippi River at Harrah Hotel. We still have power and food from hotel. Power is out in many localities. Reporting live from New Orleans, Vaden Robinson Jr/Bernadine Gordon."

I received their email at 8:08 a.m. EDT. Since then, Robinson, Jr. braved the elements, venturing outside to some covered locations at the Harrah Hotel to take photos for other CBS 6 viewers to see.

Here are the pictures he took.

Robinson, Jr. said in a later email that the conditions remain too hazardous for him to venture far from the hotel, even though he said he "would get shots of Mississippi River," but is simply "too dangerous at this time."
