Issac will move across Haiti today as a strong tropical storm.  It will then cross Cuba over the weekend, getting to Key West, Florida, Sunday night.

Isaac should spend some time over the warm Gulf of Mexico and possibly strengthen into a hurricane on Monday.  The current forecast track from the National Hurricane Center brings Isaac to a spot between Louisiana and Florida on Tuesday night.

The last few runs of the various computer models have shifted the track farther westward.  The consensus suggests the landfall will be Alabama or western Florida.  The track after that remains uncertain, as each new computer model run is throwing it in a different direction.

The track will get much more refined after it passes Cuba, so in the meantime, additional shifts in the track are possible.

Joyce remains farther out in the Atlantic, and it has been weakening a bit.  The future track takes the storm to near Bermuda, and then away from the United States.

A new disturbance has emerged off the west coast of Africa, and will be monitored over the next week.

The latest on all things tropical can be found in the CBS 6 Hurricane Tracker.
