Tropical Storm Isaac is over the Caribbean just south of Puerto Rico.  Isaac weakened slightly Thursday morning, but it is still expected to strengthen over the next 48 hours.

Isaac could be a hurricane before it strikes Haiti and the Dominican Republic late Friday and Friday night.  The storm should weaken back into a tropical storm as it crosses Cuba over the weekend.

Isaac will move back over water late Sunday, and it should become a hurricane again Sunday night into Monday morning.  The center of the storm will pass over the Florida Keys early Monday morning.

The updated forecast from the National Hurricane Center now brings the center close to the west coast of Florida, and may make a landfall in western Florida late Tuesday or Tuesday night.  This follows the consenus of the latest computer model runs:

It still looks like the remnants of Isaac will move into our area by late Wednesday or Thursday of next week.  The storm will weaken quite a bit by then, but it will still have the potential to provide much of the area with moderate to heavy rainfall.

Farther out in the Atlantic, Tropical Depression # 10 has now strengthened into Tropical Storm Joyce.  The forecast track will take it near Bermuda by the middle of next week.  After passing Bermuda, it should curve away from the eastern seaboard of the United States.
