99 years and counting for the annual Chesterfield County Fair, it opens Friday, August 24 and runs through Saturday, September 1, at the County Fairgrounds,10300 Courthouse Road. Fair hours weekdays are 4 pm to 11 pm, Saturdays 11am to 11pm and Sunday, 1pm to 11pm.
New this year are the King BMX Stunt Show, The Great Little Bear Show, Indian Longhouse and Jewelry making and the rabbit and guinea pig displays.The popular racing pigs, the wild animal petting zoo with camel and pony rides are all back along with the exciting alligator show and a host of children’s activities.
Concerts at the Grandstand include Keith Henderson “Illusions of the King”, Glen Shelton, Honky Tonk Heros, Brinn Black, The Southland Band and 7 Bridges, local band BAK N DA Day and Monday, August 27 is The Miss Chesterfield County Fair Pageant.
Daily admission tickets cash only are sold at the fairgrounds during fair hours. Adult admission is $8, Seniors $5 and children 6 thru 12 years $3. Daily admission includes the grandstand entertainment and concerts. Parking is free in the L.C. Bird High School parking lot and on the fairgrounds property across from the school.
