Romaine Lettuce in VA and NC recalled due to E.Coli

(WTVR) — According to the Food and Drug Administration, lettuce from a produce supplier in Northern California announced yesterday that they were recalling a select group of “Tanimura & Antle Field Fresh Wrapped Single Head Romaine” due to E.Coli concerns.

The Lettuce could affect up up 19 states including Virginia and North Carolina. The recalled lettuce has packaging with the UPC number 0-27918-20314-9 and a may have a Best Buy date of “08 19 12.”

The recall is in coordination with the FDA, after a random sample by the Canadian government was tested. There have been no reported cases of illness.
