Police: Pedestrian, driver killed after car runs off road in Dinwiddie

 DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Investigators have released the names of two people killed after a car hit a man and ran off the road in Dinwiddie County early Sunday morning.

Virginia State Police’s Sergeant Thomas J. Molnar said the wreck happened on eastbound Route 460, about one-quarter of a mile west of Route 628, in Dinwiddie County around 2:30 a.m.

Authorities said they found a Toyota Camry that had ran off the left side of the road and hit a tree after striking a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, 19-year-old Eric D. MCKenney, of the 10000 block of Boydton Plank Road in Dinwiddie, died.

The adult female driver and two adult female passengers all suffered serious life-threatening injuries and were all flown by med-flight to VCU Medical Center.

The driver, who was not wearing her safety belt and was ejected from the vehicle. Twenty-five-year-old Erica M. Woodley, of 7500 Woods Ridge Trace in Prince George, later died at VCU Medical Center.

The two passengers were wearing their safety belts.  

Molnar said the Virginia State Police Accident Reconstruction Team is helping with the on-going investigation.
