Richmond Police investigate four shootings over four hour span

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Police are investigating several shootings that happened late Sunday and early Monday morning.

First, two separate shootings occurred after 10 p.m. in the city's Southside and East End areas.

One man was shot in the 1600 block of Glenfield Avenue, in Hillside Court where police said the victim was hit in the upper torso.

Minutes later gunfire rang out in the 2300 block of Selden Street, in Fairfield Court.  Investigators said a group of five or six men were involved in the shooting.

Both victims were taken to VCU Medical Center. 

Around 1:30 a.m. police said another person was shot in the 1100 block of St. John Street, in Gilpin Court.

And close to 2:00 a.m. shots were fired in the 1400 block of Harwood Street, nearly a block from the earlier Glenfield Avenue shooting. 

In total there were four shootings, within four hours.  said a group of five or six men were involved in the shooting.

This recent crime wave emulates four other shootings that happened over a two-and-a-half hour span last week.
