RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - A pre-trial hearing was held Monday morning at the Richmond Circuit Court for the man who admitted to driving the car that killed a 24-year-old woman biking on River Road.

Another pre-trial hearing for Eli Webb, who remains free on bond, was scheduled for Oct. 12 at 2:30 p.m. A trial date was also set for Dec. 10 at 9:30 a.m. at the John Marshall Courthouse.

However, Webb’s attorneys are expected to ask for a “change of venue.”

Police said Webb admitted to driving the car that killed Lanie Kruszewski in the July 29 hit-and-run accident.

Kruszewski was biking home from work late at night when she was killed.  Webb said he thought he hit a deer and kept driving.  He turned himself in a few days later and is charged with a felony hit and run.
