Some arrests made following five city shootings

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Police arrested two men, and seek more suspects, following five shootings in the city of Richmond. Police said they did not believe the shootings were related.

Police arrested Mahki R. Hopkins, 24, for the shooting on Lenmore Street. Police said the victim in that shooting suffered “life-threatening” injuries.

Hopkins is charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Police said officers arrested Hopkins “within a short period of time.” The shooting took place around 10:11 p.m.

Police arrested David D. Tinsley, 24, of Chesterfield, for the shooting along the 3800 block of Caulder Court. Tinsley has been charged with attempted murderPolice said the victim in the Caulder Court suffered a non-life-threatening injury.

Richmond Police are still looking for the person who shot and killed a man at the Southwood apartments around 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Police said they were also still looking for tips to identify suspects in two other shootings — one in the 3300 block of Midlothian Turnpike and one in the 1500 block of Pollock Street. No one was killed in either shooting, according to police.
