RICHMOND, Va (WTVR)- Word of an attempted sexual assault in Richmond's Fan district is spreading just as quickly as it occurred. "Living right here, it's shocking," says one resident.

She found out by word of mouth, but, others are finding out through a post on Facebook, in which the victim is warning others with details of the incident. The woman writes, " a guy ran up behind me, grabbed my pants and tried to tear them off."  According to police, that woman was jogging at the time, just before sunset in the 300 block of North Davis Avenue.

"We did have an incident that was similar that occurred in the Fan neighborhood last year," says Richmond Police Spokesperson, Gene Lepley.

Lepley tells CBS 6, the suspect was never caught in that incident and they're wondering if it's the same person in this case.

The victim describes the suspect as a white male in his late 20's to early 30's, with an athletic build and short hair. He was last seen wearing a navy blue t-shirt and navy blue baseball cap.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
