RICHMOND, Va (WTVR)- Just how many violent crimes is  Brandy Marktees Brown, 24, accused of committing? So far he's been charged with murder in Henrico and shooting in South Richmond. The U.S. Marshals’ task force found and arrested Brown in South Richmond on Monday. They said he was at his grandmother’s house off Baronet Drive.

Brown is charged with the malicious wounding in the shooting of Jeff Davis business owner Marvin Polsten

“It's a relief,” said Polsten.  “At least I don't have to keep looking over my shoulder."

Polsten was back on the job Monday, packing extra protection and promising to implement even more.  “I’ll be Installing more cameras, bullet-proof glass,”  he said.  “We may even get a security guard."

Henrico Police also told us Brown is a suspect in the murder of 19-year-old Yahya Jabbar, Jr. outside the Grab-and-Go convenience store off Darbytown Road two weeks ago.  In that case,  police said Brown shot Jabbar, then fled from the scene.

Henrico and Richmond police said their investigations are ongoing.

City Councilwoman Reva Trammell praised Brown’s arrest, but urged people living and working off Jeff Davis to not let their guard down.

“I'm happy.  I know a lot of people are relieved to hear this news,” said Trammell.  ‘They'll be elated to see what's been done to catch this person."

We did some digging on Brandy Brown and found he has 26 charges south of the river from attempted murder to drug activity.  Some of those were “nulle prossed”  - put aside for the time being- while other charges were dismissed.

His most recent conviction was for possession of heroin with the intent to distribute in March of 2008.  He was sentenced to five years in prison but all but one month was suspended.
