RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – School rezoning is expected to be one of the biggest topics on the agenda Monday for Richmond Public School Board members.

The board will vote on the rezoning committee’s revised plans for schools on the city’s southside, including the closure of Summer Hill Elementary School and deciding which students will attend the two new elementary schools slated to open in 2013.

The school board’s work session begins at 4:30 this afternoon, with an hour-long public hearing set to begin at 7:00 p.m. The board’s meeting is set to continue until 9:00 p.m. with the rezoning vote occurring sometime within the meeting period.
