HENRICO COUNTY, Va (WTVR)- Two Henrico County police cars were damaged – one of them apparently demolished – shortly before 10 p.m. Friday night at the Gayton Road and W. Broad Street  Road intersection when a westbound Toyota plowed into the officers’ cars while they stopped for another motorist.

The officer in the most heavily damaged car wasn’t in the vehicle. The officer in the second patrol car was.  He was taken to a nearby hospital to be checked out. The driver of the Toyota appeared to be okay. The motorist initially stopped by police was not involved in the crash.

Alcohol apparently was not a factor, said a supervisor on the scene who also said the crash could’ve been much worse.
